In 2006 Kofola reached consolidated turnover of nearly 3.5 billion Czech Crowns
Prague, 5.6.2007 -
„The year 2006 was from our point of view exceedingly successful. We continue in the fulfilment of our vision to become one of the three biggest players in the field of non-alcoholic beverages in the Central European region. That was led to last year, especially with the acquisition of the company Klimo, one of the three biggest producers of private beverage brands for commercial chains in the Czech Republic”, comments
René Sommer, General Manager of the Kofola group for the Czech Republic on the final results of 2006.
On the Czech market, the company Kofola has been occupying for a long-term basis third place in terms of volume of sold beverages. In 2006 the Kofola’s market share started to overreach 13%, and within the months of February and March in 2007, it has reached 13.2%. Our most successful beverage of the product portfolio is the traditional coke beverage Kofola, which at 22.52% in terms of the volume sold is number two on the Czech market.
Continually, the number of employees has been growing as well, not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Slovakia, Poland and Hungary. Our number of people employed in the Kofola Company has more than doubled since 2001. For example, in Poland Kofola started with seven employees four years ago; today it already has 185 of them. Kofola Holding employs a total of over 1290 people in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.
Perspective of 2007
The representatives of Kofola expect that the year 2007 will also signal further growth. According to present assessments, revenues of the entire group during the first three months of this year, in comparison to the same period in 2006, have increased by 22.1% and have reached 929 million Czech Crowns. On the domestic market, Kofola took in 551 million Czech Crowns during the period January – March, which increased its turnover by 20.3% in comparison to the first quarter of 2006.
„In 2007 we will continue in the development of our activities in the non-alcoholic beverages’ market within the scope of all Central European countries, and this is reflected by the current corporate merger of the number three Polish beverage company, Hoop S.A., and the expansion of the Hungarian product portfolio, where we have started to import our Kofola Original since May of this year. We also expect turnover growth within the Kofola group, especially in connection with product innovation, which since the beginning of the year have been noted as a significant success by consumers“,
Martin Klofanda, PR Manager of the Kofola group brought the perspective of 2007 closer.
