Turnover of the Kofola Group exceeded CZK 4.5 million in 2007

Prague, 5.2.2008 -

The Kofola Group reached the sales at the rate of CZK 4,553,418 for the sale of products and services in Central Europe last year, which is the increase by 15.3% compared to 2006. The sales in the Czech Republic grew by 32.2% and the turnover reached the amount of CZK 3,034,725. Investments of the Group exceeded CZK 670 million. In 2007 Kofola confirmed the role of a strong employer and increased the rate of employment by 10% in comparison with the year 2006 to 1,372 employees.

“As we estimated in the course of 2007, we managed to exceed the level of CZK 4 billion in sales. We increased the sale of products in all categories. The increase was caused particularly by the extension and innovation of the product portfolio. As far as strategic steps are concerned, the commencement of merger with the Polish beverage company Hoop was very important for us. The process of merger has continued according to the plan and it shall have been completed by the turn of April and May,” Simona Nováková, Finance Director of the Kofola Group comments the year of 2007.

Sales and Innovations in 2007

The traditional Kofola, which has ranked second in terms of the amount of sales on the Czech cola beverages market for a long time, is one of the most popular products offered by the company. In 2007 it reached the share of 25% (ACNielsen the period of October/November 2007, the entire Czech Republic without petrol stations in financial terms). The spring water Rajec or fruit juices Jupí have also gradually taken higher shares.

The results of 2007 were influenced by many changes and innovations. A complete redesigning of the Kofola brand belonged among the most important ones. Further, we have extended the offer in the series of functional waters Rajec Bylinka, we have launched beverages in new attractive packages in the favourite series of fruit beverages and juices Jupí and the children’s drink Jupí has undergone an overall innovation. Original ideas of Kofola in the field of advertising and marketing activities have certainly contributed to the good sales results – the latest successful ones included e.g. the Season’s greeting with an angel.

Outlook to 2008

In addition to the completion of the merger with the Polish Hoop, Kofola has prepared further changes and innovations in the portfolio which shall be visible in several weeks.
